Internship Program

The main role of the International Office is to find business placements for international students from FriedrichSchiller University in Thuringia.
The International Office helps international students to look for suitable internships and placements for practice-oriented theses in Thuringia.

Why do an internship?

Companies are looking for graduates with work experience. An internship while you are a student is the key to the world of work and will open up many new perspectives and numerous personal development prospects. You will gain insights into the world of work and receive the opportunity to get to know companies in Thuringia as potential future employers. Not only that, but you can also incorporate what you have learnt in your internship into your study program and make a greater contribution to discussions in seminars. In your internship you will already make your first contacts for a career network. It is often the case that the best job offers come from the networks that you have created yourself. Past interns often have the opportunity to continue working for a company after their internship has finished, e.g. as a student trainee. Student trainees pursue an employment activity that is related to their field of study and earn a monthly wage. Interns and student trainees can sometimes even write their theses with companies. Students that have gone down this route usually have less difficulty in finding a job right after graduating.
